CHRIS GAVIN

Marseille-based DJ and producer Chris Gavin moves between house, progressive electronics, melodic techno and indie dance. Artistic director of Danceteria, his work connects years of production and club culture with an increasingly international DJ schedule.

Moving freely across styles, his sets are tied together by a hypnotic, deep and melodic signature, often carrying a distinct rock sensibility.

A former guitarist, Gavin has released music on labels including Renaissance, Selador, Desert Hearts Black, Bonzai Progressive, Side Up Works, Fall From Grace and Ray Of Light, while his Danse Alice project explored a darker, more electric side through labels such as Lumière Noire, Ombra International and Throne of Blood.

His work has been supported by artists including John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Chloé, Dave Seaman, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Damon Jee and Curses.

Founder and artistic director of Danceteria in Marseille, Gavin treats each DJ set as a narrative: a starting point, rising tension, movement and destination.
